An uplifting blend of accessible physical practices, Kundalini Yoga incorporates movement, dynamic breathing techniques, meditation, and the chanting of mantras, such as Sat Nam, meaning "truth is my identity." The goal is to build physical vitality, strengthen the nervous system, and increase consciousness by moving energy up through the seven chakras, which are believed to be spiritual centers of the body that connect to and govern major organs and physiological systems.
Each class includes a kriya (means sequence of actions leading to a goal). A typical kriya in Kundalini Yoga is a sequence of exercises, each exercise is made up of posture(s), breath and sound, which work together to create a particular state or effect. One kriya might focus on the detoxing the liver, working through creative blocks, mastering your moods, strengthening your nervous system, or possibly developing will-power.
Kundalini Yoga can be practiced in a chair or on a mat. It is fully accessible for everyone, regardless of experience, ability, or limits. Each exercise is scalable by you to meet your needs and abilities that day and time.
